Lead SEN Teacher - Hospital Setting
Sugarman Education are working in partnership with a leading independent provider of specialist education who are seeking to appoint a Lead SEN Teacher for their satellite hospital setting.
The unit provides education to young people aged 12-18 whilst they are inpatients of the CAMHS provision, ensuring they are able to access education while unable to attend their own school for medical or psychological reasons.
Supported a multi-disciplinary team, you will liaise closely with mainstream schools to ensure each student has an individualised curriculum plan, incorporating both core and foundation subjects as well as a therapeutic curriculum. You will create links to enable students to re-engage confidently with their education upon discharge.
The appointed SEN Teacher will;
- Be a fully qualified, experienced teacher with appropriate post graduate qualification
- Appropriate experience of working with children & young people with special needs.
- Be a flexible and dynamic in order to with a multidisciplinary team
- Have experience developing a curriculum within their area of strength
- Have strong pastoral skills as a form tutor for a small group of students
