Lead Maintenance Engineer

Our client is a leading automotive business based in the North East of England.  The company currently require a talented Maintenance Engineer to join the business.

Key Responsibility:

- You will effectively maintain a varied range of equipment, ensuring an acceptable level of health and safety at all times including identifying spares for stock items as well as critical spare parts
- Through PLC (programmable logic controller) programming you will root cause diagnose all breakdowns or faults to prevent re-occurrences and react to breakdowns and requested tasks in a timely manner, completing breakdown reports as required
- Train Process Leaders, Operators and Technicians when necessary and generate the relevant documentation
- Monitor manufacturing equipment performance to implement process improvements and submit ideas into the Site Ideas Improvement Scheme
- In this varied role you will develop, implement and review total preventative maintenance routines including monitoring their adherence

Skills Required: 

- You will be educated to a minimum of ONC in an Engineering discipline, preferably to HNC standard
- You will have hands on electrical knowledge and experience in PLC programming gained in a fast-paced maintenance, manufacturing environment
- Hold experience as a Maintenance Technician in a similar multi-skilled maintenance role in an Automotive, high volume, Electronics/assembly manufacturing environment
- Experience of electronics test equipment, Surface Mount Technology and medium sized electronic Assembly equipment
- Fluent English language skills and MS Office literate are necessary for this position

Salary:
Up to circa £40,000 dependent on shift allowance and company benefits.
