Lead IOS Developer Swift , Objective C, 70-75k London

A top London Mobile Digital Agency are currently looking for an iOS lead with a computer science or engineering degree to join there team in the London studio.

The right candidate will be currently working as a lead or have at least 4 years’ experience in a commercial environment having worked on a number of published commercial applications.

You’ll be reporting directly to the Technical Director and will be responsible for working either with existing or new greenfield products architecting solutions and developing applications for our clients. You need to be comfortable hands on developing or leading the architecture and teams using both Objective C and the Swift programming language.

You will have experience working in lean environments with both Scrum and Kanban methodologies and be able to work in a feature based approach along with user experience, visual and interactive design, strategy and other subject matter experts. Being able to approach complex problems in a structured way is a must as is communicating the solution in simple terms.

You will actively contribute to the development of the products we create not only by being an amazing engineer and having deep understanding of best practises but also by understanding user centric product design. You will have a thirst for learning and a never-ending desire to create quality products.

The right person will be scarily ambitious with an unreasonably high standard for what is good enough, super smart, a problem solver, organised with an intense passion for technology and design and excellent communication skills.

The role is highly demanding and requires multiple skills that span development, user experience, product design and innovation, research into new technologies.

Responsibilities include:

  • Engineering

    • Expert knowledge of Objective C and Swift

    • Expert knowledge of OOP and design patterns

    • Experience working with 3rd party APIs and libraries

    • Experience in working with existing code or new greenfield projects

    • Experience evaluating how different technologies and frameworks can be used in order to deliver the best possible solutions

  • Leadership

    • Lead the overall architecture design and development of iOS products

    • Consult the team and client on technical strategy

    • Help evolve our development and delivery processes and practises

    • Become a trusted mentor for more junior members of the team

  • Quality

    • Experience in code reviewing

    • Dislikes of hacks, preferring to write clean code over quick fixes

    • Habit of documenting your code and knowledge

    • Strong emphasis on usability best practices and structured code

  • Process

    • Experience working with cross disciplinary teams

    • Experience developing alone or leading teams across multiple products

    • Experience in working with lean methodologies in both Kanban and Scrum

    • Ability to work in a feature based environment

    • Good time management and prioritisation skills

    • Ability to break complex problems in smaller tasks

    • Experience in task estimation
