Our client, a very successful and growing manufacturer to the Automotive sector, have a requirement for an experienced / Lead Fitter, to work on a permanet basis. This is a standard dayshift role, offering competitive salary, paid overtime and company benefits.
Communicate and lead the team with focus on quality, cost and delivery, and gathering ideas for improvement.
Performance manage team members, giving direction and feedback to aid good performance.
Provide feedback to the Operations Manager on all productive staff performance, attitude and commitment to evaluate potential pay rewards.
Liaise and coordinate with support functions to progress issues concerning all production activities.
Assemble jigs, fixtures, body in white and machine tools.
Assemble and commission bespoke automation machines.
Read technical drawings and use relevant measuring equipment.
Experience in pneumatics and hydraulics.
Operate conventional milling machines, small lathes and surface grinding.
Mig and Tig welding.
Crane and slinging/ Fork-lift truck.
Assist in the training/ mentoring of new colleagues/ apprentices.
Comply and work to Assembly standard practice procedures.
Any tasks required to perform role successfully and activities instructed and requested by line managers.
Ensure that all tasks are carried out in compliance with Health and safety guidelines.
Support the effective control of costs and identify opportunities for waste reduction.
Maintain Assembly Issue Report to highlight future improvements and support cost control.
Ensure proper handling of equipment to minimise damage through assembly process.
Occasionally work off-site at clients premises and liaise with the customers.
