Exciting opportunity to join a giant industrial company - global manufacturing - design, spec and implement.

Fluent English is essential.

Role - Working with a team of leading engineers globally, your role will involve: Integration of systems into machines

Development and implementation of electrical control, automation and drive concepts including IT interfaces for production machinery of manufacturing production machinery

To define how computer behaves - Active directories, standard networking, central user management, Policies, SCADA. Relay info to ERP level.

Installation of machines & manufacturing systems.

Control system integration & machine communication

Integrate Manufacturing Execution Systems with Beckhoff & Siemens OPC servers.

Machine commissioning and acceptance procedures for 200+ Siemens & Beckhoff based PLC control systems

Systems and Control Integration Engineer will need to have experience with Industrial Automation tools, along with experience in industry/ production / manufacturing Systems.

This position will also include establishing communication IT systems and Industrial Hardware.

The communication protocols mostly used for this are OPC. OPC standardizes the way that plant floor devices such as PLCs, DCSs, and analyzers share data with software applications such as HMIs, Process Historians, and Trenders.

Experience:

Essential to have Degree in either Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Controls / Automation or related discipline

Plus experience of integration of machinery and IT systems

& Commercial experience in industry, production or manufacturing

Controls/ Automation using either - Siemens Step 7 / TIA / Beckhoff TwinCAT 2 & 3

OPC - software interface standard that allows Windows programs to communicate with industrial hardware devices.

Good knowledge of Windows operating systems & databases (SQL Server / Oracle)

Infrastructure PC design/ machine acceptance linking: machine level and controls and drives

Advantage to have:

  • Project Management/ Project Engineereg Ability to self-manage, multi-task and keep track of simultaneous on-going projects
  • This is a Senior project manager level position - Soft skills also key: machine suppliers, purchasing, PMA (prelim machine acceptance)

A Hybrid role linking: PC machine level with controls and drives (i.e. automation/ PLC/ hardware programming) in Heavy Industry.

Heavy plant background ideally eg automotive or rail or aerospace or similar useful to have international project experience & commissioning & integration background.

With enough experience to be project engineer/ PM/ leader & negotiate with suppliers, validate concept.
