Senior Designer (design principles for digital, media, advertising Co) + Mentoring Junior Team

Location - High Wycombe, Beaconsfield, Maidenhead Catchment Area

Salary - basic in region of c.£35-45k negotiable (plus bonus) as this is a key role within the organisation. In addition, a full benefits package.

Main Purpose:

Lead on design principles cross all channels and brands including web, app, email and offline (print)

Ensure user experience in design is at fore front of mind, being sensitive to development needs/requirements and how brand design is applied to the thinking.

Working with internal colleagues to scope needs, define requirements, propose/document approach with stakeholders including development colleagues/agencies, Head of Online/Content and Design teams.

Skills (Desirable)

Adobe packages including Photoshop, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, experience with Content Management systems
HTML, Video Creation/Editing


Ideally (although not essential )some experience of working within advertising, marketing and digital channels with specific focus on digital marketing
Experience in Branding including interpreting application
Previous experience in managing a small team including coaching and mentoring


Act as Design lead in product development process across web, email and apps with user journey at forefront of mind.

Work to generate ideas and solutions to whilst being sensitive to application and forward management of content onsite.

Work closely with other designers and Head of Online/content to iteratively improve products and services for users and clients

Taking consumer insight and understanding client and market trends to develop new and innovative commercial opportunities

Work on client briefs/proposals designing creative solutions, then briefing out to the design team to follow through on application of the design.

Proactive involvement and guidance in onsite improvements of existing key content areas including regular Heatmap and A/B testing

Maintaining the quality of the user experience across mobile and web taking feedback from development teams and insight to apply into designs.

Interpreting business requirements into wireframes to articulate concepts and where applicable work with external UX agencies

Support Technical Front End Design & Development of digital platform as/when required.

Support on design application for Channel development and testing solutions prior to live.

Responsible for branding and consistency across online and offline channels

Experience (Desirable)

Experience in Branding including establishing and interpreting application
Experience of working within advertising, marketing and digital channels with specific focus on digital marketing
Understanding of data to inform decisions
People Management experience (small junior team although management not mandatory)
Analytical and problem solving skills, and the ability to quickly develop ideas based on quantitative and qualitative evidence
Organisational skills, ability to multi task and prioritise
Good understanding around the creative process and thinking ahead before each required step
Logical thinker and a clear communicator
A 'can do' attitude and ability to present
Interpersonal skills
A creative, who is an independent thinker. Who is organised and thrives in a high pressure, results orientated environment. Accepts responsibility and welcomes the opportunity to be autonomous in their role whilst maintaining effective links with the wider Lifecycle Marketing team.
