In line with Scottish Government Health & Social Care Directorates guidance, National Services Division (NSD) is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Lead Clinician to lead the work and ongoing development of the new Haematology and Transfusion Network Scotland (HaTS).
The HaTS brings together clinical haematologists and transfusion scientists from across Scotland to work in a co-ordinated manner, across geographical, organisational and professional boundaries. The network exists to ensure the provision of high quality, clinically effective clinical haematology and transfusion services throughout Scotland including service redesign.
The Lead Clinician will be an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual who will lead the development of the Network taking account of the Quality Strategy for Scotland and the changing financial environment. Applicants will be clinical leaders in their field and have knowledge and experience in the provision and development of diagnostic clinical haematology and transfusion services. They will command the respect of colleagues nationally, and will have a proven record in leading change. The ability to work across traditional NHS Board boundaries and organisations is essential.
The appointment is for 1 PA per week for a fixed term of 3 years. The successful candidate will work from their current employing Board who will be compensated for the agreed time.
