An exciting opportunity has opened for an enthusiastic full time band 8a Clinical Endoscopist to join our Endoscopy team at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.
The Trust is one of the largest Trusts in Kent. Working in Kent offers an excellent quality of life. This area boasts great transport links with easy access to a beautiful coastline / countryside and a great range of local amenities, shopping and nightlife.
This post is a replacement post commencing as soon as possible. Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust integrates two sites in which each one has a 3–room Endoscopy Unit sharing in-patient and out-patient facilities. The team offers care across both Trust sites.
There is currently a team of Consultant Gastroenterologists covering all aspects of in-patient and out-patient Gastroenterology, including ward rounds and on-call duties incorporating a comprehensive acute upper gastrointestinal bleeding service. There are close working relationships within the Trust with the Surgical Directorate and Specialist Nurses (IBD, Screening and Cancer services).
Our services include Oral Gastroscopy, Flexible Sigmoidoscopy, Colonoscopy and Bowel Screening.
This role is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Sunday. As a clinical endoscopist, you will need to demonstrate leadership skills, clinical supervision and education.
The successful applicant is required to provide some or all of the following services for which they have been authorized as competent.
- Oral Gastroscopy, Flexible Sigmoidoscopy, diagnostic and therapeutic, Colonoscopy, diagnostic and therapeutic, Capsule endoscopy
- Telephone advice
- Attendance and participation at governance meetings
- Triage of referrals
- KPI auditing
