Title: Laboratory Technician x2
Salary: £11.74 per hour including Shift Allowance and Benefits
Duration: Temporary with the potential to become Permanent for the right candidate.
Hours: 40 hours per week. Days and Nights, rotating back to back.
We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client a worldwide stainless steel provider for their Sheffield site. Our client is fast becoming the undisputed number one in stainless steel and employs some 7500 people in over 30 countries. They are currently recruiting for a Laboratory Technician on a Temporary basis initially with a Permanent contract being offered for the right candidate.
To be successful in the position of Laboratory Technician role, we are looking for candidates that have experience of preparing samples using hand tools (Lever Shear) and rotary grinding disc machines. As well as experience of using Leco CS 200/230 and TC 400/500 analysers. You will be analysing metal for Carbon, Sulpher, Nitrogen and Oxygen content - ensuring it is within certain perimeters.
As well as using Leco CS & TC machines you will also have experience of using various spectrometers including x-ray, optical emissions and gamma rays. You will be required to schedule samples in Dylan and log results and data accurately using the company wide management information system and Microsoft Office Applications.
To apply for this position you must have previous experience in a laboratory role within a metals company completing metals chemical analysis. Ideally educated to HNC level (or equivalent) in a materials related subject. You will be required to have a sound understanding of working within the ISO9000 standards and have the skills to communicate effectively with production operatives and metallurgists.
