CUSTOMERS: NHS & Research laboratories
TERRITORY: Office-based in Manchester (if no prior sales experience) or home-based in the UK (if with experience in scientific sales), and around 30% domestic and international travel to customers and distributors in Germany or France.
In this role you will be responsible for sales and technical support to the company's customer base via working closely with the global distributors. The position is customer-facing, providing technical sales and support to ensure customer satisfaction, company sales targets are reached and marketing plan is fulfilled.
Sales and Marketing:
Contribute to achievement of annual sales and marketing plans
Provide product expertise and sales support for distributors
Contribute to the development of sales leads through attendance at conferences and exhibitions, follow up on website enquiries and gain customer recommendations
Qualify sales leads via active customer management.
Build and maintain long term relationships with customers and distributors
Assist with the development of future product lines through interaction with KOLs, gain feedback and market insight
Assist with the development of technical and marketing literature materials and the product development/planning and marketing process
Attend and contribute to internal and external scientific meetings to maintain awareness of new molecular biological techniques, competitor landscape and new product opportunities
Contribute to the maintenance of a customer relationship management database
Working closely with the R&D, QC and manufacturing teams and provide specialist technical support to customers within the distributor network regarding product performance, troubleshooting and complaints.
Organise and run product demonstrations and training for both customers and distributors
Ensure regular customer contact to monitor and ensure continued satisfaction
Present technical workshops and seminars to customer/special interest groups and provide technical support at customer sites
Develop, organise and deliver product evaluation and validation programs to new and existing customers.
Degree in a Life Science discipline, preferably with experience in Genetics or Molecular Biology
Scientific sales experience is desirable but not essential.
Ability to travel abroad up to 30% of your time
Excellent communication skills, self-motivated and organised.
Fluency in German or French alongside English is essential.
