About the roleAs a Product Owner in Operate, you'll work as part of a team to help clients handle critical projects, programmes and processes, from keeping pace with regulation to trackling transformation. You'll be playing a part in the global rollout of a technology platform within the Know your Customer (KYC) and Know your Business (KYB) space.

The job responsibilities are those of a product owner, who can balance working with stakeholders, agile development teams and testers, risk and quality specialists and vendors to understand and organise the prioritisation of work in a way that aligns with project delivery timelines.

The technology platform you'll be working in is developed in house and you'll work closely with the technology leadership team ensuring that releases meet business needs and adhere to all internal technology and security standards as well as the appropriate regional regulatory and compliance requirements.
Sprint Review

  • Take the lead on the Sprint reviews with the team/business stakeholders.
    Sprint Retrospective

  • Feedback to be taken on board for the next sprint/sprint planning sessions.
    Sprint Planning
  • Organise the backlog in order of priorities prior to meeting and familiarise yourself with what's being worked on, progress of work items, priority of work items vs upcoming priorities/goals.

  • Take the lead on the sprint planning sessions to identify work items that will be worked on throughout the next sprint, clarifying any questions and ensuring user stories/acceptance criteria are up to date..

  • Work with the team to understand capacity, achievable work within the sprint, destination and breakdown of work items in tasks.
    Sprint/Product Owner related activities

  • Providing vision and direction to the Agile development team and stakeholders throughout the project, meeting with the team to break work items down into requirements & stakeholders to discuss/prioritize the product roadmap. (When required)

  • Create the relevant 'Feature' and 'Epics' that will make up the main body of work over the sprints

  • Carry out analysis sessions to understand the requirements of work items, creating user stories with acceptance criteria for each work item.

  • Own the product backlog, ensuring the correct prioritization from the stakeholders.

  • Meet with developers to discuss work items and explain from a functional perspective how this will work within the application.

  • Hold sessions (Bi-weekly) for feature on the backlog, breakdown one down into achievable work items
    Product Support

  • Learn how to use the products you are the owner of, as you will be the first point of contact for any product related issues.

  • Demo the products as and when required to stakeholders, analysts and clients (if required)

  • Have a solid understanding of the technical aspects of the product, including any integrations that may be possible, how documents are managed, security etc.

  • Complete any administrative documentation required. (Technical Risk Checklist, Support Documentation, User Guides, Proposal Information/Assumptions, Infrastructure costs and other product related documentation)

  • Support the team in issuing user accounts to relevant parties

  • Act as a point of contact for stakeholders who have questions/issues they need urgently solved.

    Essential Criteria

  • A broad and comprehensive technical understanding, together with a good understanding of product development processes, concepts (especially in an agile environment) roadmaps and timelines;

  • Developing a technology product strategy and vision;

  • Experience of working in (or with) a professional services firm or consultancy

  • Confident with working in a fast-paced environment and playing an integral part in the building and development of products

  • Experience of interacting with senior stakeholders and communicate with impact (both verbally and written)

  • Knowledge of APIs/security/localisation/cyber security

  • Commercial Acumen, with respect to negotiations

  • Understanding of Project Governance and Risk Management

  • Track-record of establishing and maintaining strong client relationship

    Desirable Criteria

  • Background in Financial Services, particularly with a view to regulation

  • Specific KYC/KYB domain knowledge

  • Technical Background

  • Experience working with Technology vendors

  • Strong commercial skill set with product commercialisation and the delivery of an operational model - transitioning a build into a managed service

  • Experience of the cloud technology stack and working with/implementing solutions across the major cloud vendors

  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and delivering client solutions

  • Ability to work to tight deadlines

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to develop and nurture strong relationships at all levels.

  • Excellent time management and personal organisational skills.

  • Ability to see tasks through to the end and meet tight deadlines, taking responsibility for their completion and maintaining quality throughout.
