Your new role
As a teacher of KS1, you would be required to teach classes from EYFS to Year 2. You will be required to deliver exciting and engaging lessons to all pupils. In order to ensure all pupils make progress, you will be required to differentiate all lessons based on regular assessment of pupils work. You will also be responsible for making sure routines are established, especially as pupils move from Year 1 to Year 2 as the school are keen to promote clear routines and structure to pupils from an early age.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role you will have to have relevant and recent experience in delivering the KS1 curriculum. In addition to this, experience of delivering phonics packages such as 'Read, Write Inc is important as well as having the confidence to differentiate this work is important. Excellent classroom management is important, including many positive reinforcement techniques to make sure pupils are consistently motivated to keep trying their best with their work.
