Your new company
Our client a fast growing fish and chip retailer have been established for the past 15 years operating in over 30 locations. The company, offer a traditional menu and believe in the quality of their brand insisting that every part of the customer experience is as smooth and friendly as possible. They are looking to recruit a hard-working and self-motivated Kitchen manager to manage their busy Kitchen to serve up to 300 guests. They are looking for a very hands on manager who will engage and develop the team bringing BOH & FOH together to ensure a positive fun environment and making South Parade a great place to work. This a fast-paced company that rewards the good performance of its managers.
Your new role
You will lead a kitchen team of 10+ employees and strive to maintain the highest standards regarding customer service and sales. As a Kitchen Manager you will be responsible for managing the kitchen (preparing cutting/cooking food), developing menus, creating delectable recipes, providing training and mentoring your team in order to achieve operational standards whilst ensuring health and safety standards are maintained. You will report directly into the General Manager and will take responsibility for the food gross profit of the business, drive food standards, oversee stock takes and will contribute to the suggestion and implementation of sales initiatives. In addition, if you are successful upon your initial interview, you will be required to demonstrate your ability to prepare 3 dishes to present and serve in front of the CEO and Director.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have previous experience in handling food and will have demonstrable management experience leading teams. You will be approachable, confident and passionate about food. You must have a fun and enthusiastic approach to and are able to display an incredible work ethic. You will possess attention to detail in all areas of food quality ordering, stock counting and all areas of food safety and health & Safety. Some experience in stock programs on computer systems would be an advantage. You will be required to work a 48 hour contract over 5 days including weekends and be flexible in your schedule to cover key trading times (Tuesday and Friday are essential days to work).
