Key Account Manager

My Client is looking to recruit a Key Account Manager (Apparel Division) to join the sales team in our rapidly growing business. The position will be based in Chesterfield, with travel expected to key retailers and licensors offices and the head office in Oxfordshire.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Senior National Accounts Manager on several high-profile accounts as well as managing their own number of important accounts.

We are looking for a dynamic self-starter, preferably from an apparel background with an understanding of clothing manufacturing. You will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to negotiate and influence, with an extensive understanding of critical paths and the product development process. The role will include working closely with the Far East which may involve some travel. You must be able to multi task, manage your work load efficiently and work as part of a wider apparel team. It is critical that you can maintain close working relationships with our account base.

Knowledge of licensed apparel and sales would be advantageous.

Some of our major National accounts include George, Tesco’s and Sainsbury’s. Experience or interest in these areas would be beneficial.

Skills required include

  • PC literate, with good working knowledge of Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  • Proven skill set in managing key customer accounts
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
  • Logical approach to problem solving with excellent attention to detail and organisation skills
  • Self-starter and team player
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Commercially aware and numerically agile
  • The ability to influence at all levels - both internally and externally
