Key Account Manager

Key Account Manager (advertising sales) - c.£50K + uncapped com - South London/Surrey (or some home based work).

We require a talented sales professional who wants to enhance their skill set and further their career in a globally renowned and respected media and data business.

You will have the opportunity to win new business and develop client relationships both over the phone and in a face-to-face capacity in order to increase revenue. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with an array of different customers in the agriculture sector from global agro-chemical companies to Universities and major food manufacturers and distributors.

Our consultative approach to delivering value for our customers enables the best candidate to manage their own territory and develop new business opportunities across the portfolio. We have a vast portfolio covering Display, Classified, e-Newsletters, online, recruitment, projects, events, data, analytics and software solutions.

As well as a generous uncapped bonus scheme and monthly individual and team incentives, all sales professionals receive consistent, ongoing coaching and support in order to develop their skills.

This role will involve selling multimedia solutions to our agricultural property agents and machinery dealers to influence your customers into bespoke solutions depending on needs and pain points uncovered. The client base is currently worth £1.2m in annual revenue.

You will be working with a proven Sales Methodology and continually developed, coached and supported.

Key Activities

  • Through value-based selling understand and challenge customer requirements in order to help them achieve their business objectives.
  • To sell solutions effectively and to deliver revenue through telephone activity and face-to-face meetings
  • Sell a wide range of solutions including Multi-media (display and classified), Awards, Special Projects and Events
  • Maximise new business spend on a range of different packages and products
  • Work innovatively with your customers, growing connections and maximising opportunities by working closely with your Key Accounts.
  • Work as a Knowledgeable, credible expert championing a specific agricultural sector and sharing your insights with the business and your customers
  • Work closely and build relationships with the editorial team to understand the market and seek opportunities based on editorial strategy, and breaking new stories.
  • Win new business from competitors and other sources
  • Identify growth areas and opportunities for our target advertisers
  • Build relationships with key decision makers
  • Monitor competitive media on a regular basis to establish client activity
  • Create innovative ways to build business from existing and new customers
  • Support customer strategy and process
  • Provide client and competitor information and intelligence to Sales Manager and other team members in order to help shape the growth strategy
  • Liaise effectively with all internal departments

Key Skills/Experience Required

  • A proven track record of being able to sell effectively by understanding customer needs and providing solutions
  • A proven track record in Multi-Media and Events Sales would be a benefit
  • A keen appetite to proactively chase and win new business
  • Able to demonstrate a high level of effective telephone and face to face sales activity
  • Confidence and credibility in face to face situations
  • Ability to quickly develop knowledge of a new marketplace
  • Flexible and able to perform well under pressure
  • Ability to build effective commercial relationships with new and existing clients
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to build strategic partnerships and work as a trusted partner with your Key Accounts building large successful campaigns
  • Proven track record in strong Campaign Management and Customer Retention.
