We are looking for a talented and dynamic front-end designer to help us build beautiful ecommerce websites for Evans Cycles. Someone who really cares about the customer journey and final result, not just getting the job finished on time. We are the UK’s largest and most trusted cycling retailer, so we are looking for someone that can design polished ecommerce experiences that are visually stunning on all screen sizes.

• Someone passionate about design concepts, typography, and delivering beautiful projects. • The ability to deliver designs that adhere to brand and design guidelines. • A portfolio of work (please send a link when you apply, or attach relevant items). • Experience working with Sketch, Photoshop and Illustrator. • Excellent visual and user-focused design skills with an eye for detail. • A good awareness of industry trends that can help us produce better work. • Ability to communicate with internal stakeholders. • A good understanding of usability and design patterns. • Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills. • Great responsive HTML/SASS skills.

What you’ll be doing…

• Designing professional e-commerce web pages for our UK and International website • Producing prototypes using Invision and communicating directly with stakeholders about your ideas. • Creating wireframes and high-fidelity website designs. • Bringing design concepts to life using HTML/SASS/JavaScript (jQuery). • Working closely with the project and account managers to deliver projects that are the best in the industry.
1 - The purpose of your role

As a Front-End Designer, you’ll primarily be designing and building the Evans Cycles website. What we’re looking for is a creative person with a great eye for design and a can-do attitude who understands the visual and technical elements of what makes best in class websites.



• Collaborating and share ideas with the rest of the design and development team.

3 - Our expectations

• Experience in responsive web design • Strong programming skills and logical approach to problem solving • Advanced skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and JQuery • Experience with Scontent management systems and jirra • Experience with GIT, or other source control systems • Good commercial awareness, passionate about fashion and retail • Knowledge of best practices and usability, with an awareness of web standards • Good knowledge of UI and UX principles • Able to execute pixel-perfect HTML from designs • Knowledge of accessibility techniques • Good understanding of SEO • Experience with popular APIs (Google Analytics, Facebook, Twitter) • Interest in new technologies, development techniques, and upcoming trends • Previous experience of working with back end developers • Thorough understanding of website functionality • Excellent communication & influencing skills at all levels
