Work with York are seeking a dynamic, motivated Technical Support Officer to join a highly successful, fast-growing, and innovative organisation in a recently formed internal IT department. No two days are the same in this vibrant department. You will proactively support customers in the company and external clients, ensuring an optimum Information Technology service is provided at all times, as well as receiving, prioritising, documenting, and resolving all requests in a timely manner. You will analyse requirements and provide real solutions, including liaising with suppliers to improve the service offered.

In order to be successful in this vacancy, you must demonstrate clear and confident communication skills at all levels via face to face, written, and telephone methods, with an ability to discuss technical issues will people of varying technical ability. It is essential you are able to resolve issues in a friendly, calm, and reassuring manner while multi-tasking, prioritising, and escalating accordingly. You must be self motivated and methodical, with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn, as well as working well as part of a team.

Essential Criteria:

  • Ability to produce clear, concise and accurate documentation
  • Troubleshooting experience with Microsoft Windows and Office
  • Understanding of PC hardware setup and configuration
  • Understanding of networking concepts and technologies
  • Understanding of security infrastructure, including anti-virus & firewalls
  • Own transport due to location
