A new opportunity has arisen for a receptionist to join our team at the Shepton Mallet NHS Treatment Centre. With an excellent reputation the Shepton Mallet NHS Treatment Centre has been delivering high quality care to NHS patients in Somerset for 12 years. The hospital has been assessed as top of the national PROMS table from patients having had knee replacements and eighth nationally for hip replacements. It was also recently rated ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in a newly published inspection report - putting the it at the very top of the regulator’s quality ratings across England. We offer a range of treatments across a number of specialities including general surgery, orthopaedics, endoscopy, gastroenterology. gynaecology, urology, ENT and ophthalmology. We also provide diagnostic imaging and pain management services.
Referral Manager and Operations Lead
As a key member of the team, you will be expected to provide a professional and patient focused service, supporting the administration teams within the centre. You will also support with increased workloads and continuous succession planning within the administration teams. Key duties will include: • Supporting the reception team in its daily running by marking patients as attended, resolving transport enquiries and bookings, ensuring a safe reception and main waiting area is maintained, preparing the post, using a franking machine, taking general telephonic and face to face enquiries • Supporting the medical records team in creating patient notes ready for clinic or theatre, filing and assisting with archiving • Supporting the patient booking team with loading of referrals onto the electronic patient record system, working within the electronic referral system, assisting with day to day tasks and preparing patient appointment letters
• Good standard of education to include English or equivalent
