Junior Materials Designer

The client is looking for a new Junior Materials Designer who will be responsible for producing high quality, on brand, printed and digital materials across the range of the companys programmes that enhance the learner experience.
To design and amend from concept to finished artwork, a range of engaging materials including books, page layouts, illustrations/graphics, templates design and covers for both paper-based and digital learning solutions
Work closely with all staff and other stakeholders in the development of high quality materials.
Offer suggestions to improve the learning materials, focusing on providing the best possible experience for customers.
Find innovative uses for content to be developed into blended and online learning.
Keep and maintain appropriate, accurate records and documentation throughout each stage of a project. Ensure checklists are completed and details entered into the departmental database system.
Ensure that copyright and IP rules are adhered to and brand guidelines are followed.
Prioritise own workload and work proactively and flexibly to ensure deadlines are met
Consider cost implications when designing a product.
Responsible for purchasing images whilst remaining within defined budgets.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Degree level qualification or relevant experience or professional qualification
Numeracy and literacy skills
Good knowledge of using PowerPoint
Proven experience of using Adobe packages including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
Maintaining current and up-to-date design skills and use of software packages, including those listed above.
Experience of using Mac computer systems in a design studio environment is essential.
Experience of design for the web and digital media is an advantage.
Job Specific Skills:
Excellent skills in Adobe Creative Suite (including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, Bridge, Lightroom) and MS Office applications.
Excellent communication skills and a demonstrable enthusiasm for education learning.
Self-motivated with the ability to use initiative: work independently and also as part of a team.
Highly developed organisational, research and innovative skills.
Ability to problem solve within the role.
Sound knowledge of printing and prepress processes.
