Junior Hedge Fund Research and Administration Technician

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing firm in this newly created position offering a rare and genuine chance to develop yourself further once you prove yourself! Predominatley based in Buckhurst Hill, however some time may be required within the central London offices.

Major Responsibilities:

Your primary role is to oversee the technical aspects of investment funds and the associated research and materials, with particular emphasis on hedge fund research and the settling of client trades.

General Role Profile and Duties:

  • Collate and maintain up to date due diligence materials - including (but not limited to) Information Memorandums, DDQ packs etc
  • Build contacts with the investor relations of fund houses and ensure the company is on the email distribution list and receives relevant updates for all funds
  • Ensure that fund terms and dealing notifications are stored in a single central database
  • Ensure all the necessary documents to enable a client to trade are up to date and held on file
  • Ensure (where relevant) any compliance or administrator sign off procedure is completed in advance of trades being placed, including where necessary funds being added to trading platforms in advance of trading
  • Save all relevant fund commentary on the Company server
  • Maintain a detailed record of investment funds held by clients in order to report to the principals of the company for a scheduled quarterly review (and ad hoc basis as required)
  • Manage relationships with external sources e.g. Offshore bond/SIPP providers whereby they have a mutual client of the company
  • Liaise with client reporting services contracted by the company to ensure full functionality of this service is able to be maintained
  • Efficient and accurate administration and processing of all client requests whether received directly or indirectly such as the providing of fund information
  • Reconciling of trades by clients including the settlement of trades using contract notes generated
  • Manage and prioritise your workflow as necessary to ensure the timely processing of business activity
  • Liaise with other members and employees of the company as and when necessary as part of the overall operations and administration of the company
  • Liaise with external administration units as and when necessary to ensure the continued functionality, professionalism and progression of the company Partners
  • Continued Professional Development, including adhering to and adopting any Company developments in regard to systems and processing
  • General office duties as required from time to time - post, filing, faxing, photocopying, stationary etc

In order to be considered for this role, suitable applicants will possess the following:

  • At least 2 years experience as a minimum with a Financial Institution
  • An analytical nature
  • A genuine personal interest in the stock markets
  • Degree educated, ideally within a relevant subject
