Hays have been retained by a highly successful contractor in their recruitment of a Junior Estimator. Our client has been established within the construction industry for almost 30 years, delivering a wide range of construction projects from traditional block to more innovative options such as panelised construction. They specialise in off-site manufacturing facilities across the UK and Ireland, which enables them to deliver exceptional buildings within strict budgets and time frames. This contractor has experienced an increase in workload recently, and such growth is still ongoing. Due to this exponential growth they now have a necessity to recruit a Junior Estimator to expand their commercial team.
Your new role
Reporting to the Senior Estimator you will assist in the delivery of estimates and proposals on a range of projects across the UK and Ireland worth up worth up to £6m across a wide range of sectors including: Health, Industrial & Technology, Education, Office and Residential. Your daily responsibilities will include; sending out inquiries, providing admin support and replying to queries from subcontractors. This is an office based role so you will not be required to travel to the UK.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be degree educated, stemming from a construction related discipline and be keen to make a move to a contractor that will offer a long-term career view in the construction industry. A high level of competence in all Microsoft Office packages will be a necessity for the role, as will the ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast and dynamic environment. A confident and outgoing personality will be beneficial for dealing directly with clients and their design teams.
