Junior Developer vacancy at Staffordshire University

£23557-£27285 per annum plus 32 days annual leave and generous pension scheme and many other generous benefits

Hays IT are working in partnership with Staffordshire University in Stoke-On-Trent to recruit a Junior Developer on a permanent basis.

Staffordshire University have embarked on an ambitious and unique transformation in the Higher Education Sector to become the UK's leading Digital University. They are putting in real changes to their environment, changes which companies like Microsoft are talking about on a global stage.

As part of this journey they need to build new capability to support their Digital Vision and are now expanding their core skills and introducing a Development team. If you are ready to make a difference in a Higher Education environment, be ambitious, brilliant and innovative, the Junior Developer may be the role for you. Working within the Digital Solutions team you will be directly involved in building the Digital Vision as well as growing your own skills, knowledge and experience.

Digital Services consists of three core functions as follows:

* Architecture & Security (responsible for identifying and selecting digital capabilities for the University)
* Digital Projects (responsible for overseeing the delivery and implementation of digital capabilities for the university)
* Service Management (responsible for developing, managing and maintaining all live, operational technology for the university)

Staffordshire University have already been busy changing their environment at pace, embracing an agile mentality and Cloud based services for their infrastructure and looking to innovate for their students and staff with next generation technologies like Artificial Intelligence.

In order to apply for this vacancy you must have an understanding of languages and frameworks of one or more of the following: C#, .NET, Java EE, JavaScript, jQuery and SQL for this world as well as an understanding of source code control. Any familiarity you have with Higher Education and related management systems (such as Tribal SITS Student Records System) would be a bonus but in truth we're more interested in meeting innovators - enthusiastic, creative and engaging people.
