Junior Buyer with excellent interpersonal communication skills and proficient in IT skills is needed by our client, a Natural and Organic wholesaler, specialising in food products, household items and toiletries, to be based at their Daventry (Northants) head office.
With over 30 years in the independent health food and wholefoods trade, they supply a wide range of items to natural food businesses and shops.
They are on the lookout for an ambitious new member to join their buying team.
This is an entry level role.
Reporting to their Senior Buyer, you will play an integral part in ensuring all supply chain activities for their products run smoothly.
Creating weekly supplier orders, ensuring product stock availability, developing relationships with internal and external suppliers & customers, maintaining up-to-date and accurate master data for stock records, setting up new products and suppliers on the system, reporting issues to customer services and commercial teams, sourcing new products, negotiating prices with suppliers, ensuring weekly & monthly KPIs are met, and predicting future performance.
You may be required to carry out additional duties if required.
Strong numerical skills
Excellent interpersonal communication skills (verbal & written)
Strong commercial acumen
IT skills - proficient in MS Excel, Outlook, WMS, process orientation
Attentive to detail
Previous experience in a similar role (desirable)
Experience working in the food sector (desirable)
Salary: £17,000 - £19,000 per annum depending on experience
