Junior Application Support Analyst



Our client, a leading brand in women’s fashion, is currently seeking an Application Support Analyst to join their Technology team based in their head office. The role primarily involves acting as a liaison between the business and the information technology department as well as external providers. You would influence and drive the approach to the company website and Order, Product and Warehouse Management systems, identifying opportunities for improvements.

Main responsibilities would include:

  • Interpreting business intelligence requirements and providing a reporting solution that is considered appropriate
  • Maintaining existing reports and identifying opportunities to improve where possible
  • Creating and running SQL queries from the database - knowledge of DTS and stored procedures needed
  • Working with external systems and infrastructure providers to address networking, programming, hardware and software issues
  • Acting as systems administrator for ERP systems (MS SQL server platform)
  • Supporting the integration of the website to the ERP systems
  • Maintaining and promoting MS Sharepoint Services intranet and document repository
  • Working closely with users to identify business, department and individual change needs
  • Designing and/or reviewing test cases
  • Working closely with users to ensure the system and any changes made are used correctly and processes are followed

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A broad understanding of business and information technology, including SQL database management
  • Some knowledge of the customer service, web ordering process and logistics arenas
  • Ability to assemble, analyse and evaluate data to make appropriate recommendations and decisions to support business stakeholders
  • Experience of business KPIs and the design and deployment of business intelligence
  • Degree level educated ideally
  • Experience in modelling/mapping of business processes ideal
  • Great attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills - able to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences
  • Ability to think creatively
