The Neuroprogressive and Dementia Network (NDN) is an established organisation funded by the Chief Scientist Office. Our primary aim is to support and facilitate the conduct and delivery of clinical trials in dementia and neurodegenerative diseases within the NDN portfolio.
This is an established post within the network which aims to provide direct support to the research team in enabling large studies to be delivered. The post holder will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of clinical studies in NHS Grampian and recruiting participants with dementia and other neuroprogressive disorders such as Motor Neurone Disease. You will be responsible for working on a portfolio of clinical studies, primarily in Grampian but occasionally from other areas within neighbouring Health Boards. Very occasionally you may be required to work at some distance from Grampian if the demands of a particular study require this. As part of the multidisciplinary team you will be involved with the assessment and management of the research pathways for patients and carers participating in clinical studies under the auspices of the network. You will be required to liaise with clinical teams dealing with the clinical care of the patient and carer concerned.
The successful applicant will work closely with the Senior Clinical Studies Officer in NHS Grampian and the network manager as part of a team of research staff across Scotland. A key part of the role will be the delivery of studies in Grampian.
