I have an opportunity for an enthusiastic Mid-Level Java Developer (REST API, GIT, TDD, Agile) - you will be creating and maintaining a highly scalable architecture for their event Data Lake using Java 8, Guice for dependency, Dropwizard for Microservices, Gradle for automation and GIT for version control - containerising development using Docker and deploying to AWS. The bulk of your work will revolve around REST API and WebServices development so it is crucial that you have experience of creating REST API's from the ground up and understand conceptually how they fit into the development cycle. The roadmap of development is under constant review and already has a pipeline of work including increasing the machine learning capabilities within the applications.
You will be passionate about clean code and best engineering practices and be able to able to provide examples of when you have implemented them within projects you have worked on. You will be responsible for testing your own code using Junit and Mockito - understanding the difference between Unit and integration tests. The Java team is a close knit team, you will also gain experience of working alongside their talented Data Science team - they foster an environment of sharing ideas and being open - no bureaucracy or red tape - just supportive developers who share a common goal.
