Java Developer is required to join a leading and highly progressive company from their head office based in Fareham.

The role of Java Developer will involve working through the full development lifecycle, helping to develop and produce a number of web based applications used by my clients growing customer base.


  • Work with relevant stakeholders to produce detailed design specifications
  • Design, Code and Unit Test software solutions to a high standard
  • Take part in design and architecture sessions
  • Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing software
  • Work closely with the Test Team to understand and resolve issues
  • Work with customers to understand and resolve issues
  • Attend meetings and briefings
  • Take responsibility for development projects and tasks assigned to you


  • BSc in Computing, Engineering or related field
  • Commercial experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer or similar role
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
  • Experience of Java
  • Familiar with database technologies and ORM frameworks such as Hibernate

Desirable (not essential):

  • Knowledge or experience with Maven build automation tool
  • Frontend UI skills, such as experience with web applications, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, Angular JS, or other related web programming languages
  • Familiarity of C# or the .NET framework
