Jan Start - Learning Support assistant - Mainstream Secondary School- London borough of Southwark

We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to offer 1 to 1 support for a statemented child who is in a wheelchair. This is for a January 2018 start.

The role

If you are interested in the rewards and challenges of a Learning support assistant, this role presents a wonderful opportunity for you to become a valued member of staff at this very well run and managed school.

You will be expected to have at least 6 months experience within a classroom setting, preferable secondary however if you have primary experience you will be considered.

The ideal candidate

To be considered a real asset to the school, you must demonstrate:

  • Experience of special educational needs
  • A minimm of 6 months experience within a school or child related environment
  • One to one support and group support work
  • Genuine passion in education
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Friendly and professional manor

This is a mixed secondary School which is located in South East London and easily located close to a Tube and on various bus routes.
