Overview of IT Asset Management services

The role of IT Asset Management (ITAM) Analyst sits within the IT Asset Management practice in Trustmarque's Professional Services division and delivers a variation of services that fall into the following core service areas:

  • Commercial Benchmarking

  • Compliance Optimisation

  • ITAM Process Lifecycle Management

  • SAM Technology

  • IT Asset Management Managed services

Overview of the role

This role is primary responsible for assisting and supporting the ITAM/SAM consultants, performing defined tasks for the delivery of various projects to our clients, supporting on customer engagements and managing regular activities within the managed services client base. This includes but not limited to completing various Licence, contract and data analytical duties which may involve:

  • On-going support to team members

  • Data analysis and scheduled activities of customer's entitlement (all publishers)

  • Importing licenses and agreements into the entitlement databases

  • Performing reconciliation analysis for different publishers

  • Creating reports and spreadsheets as requested or scheduled

Responsibilities

The main responsibilities are detailed below, although the post holder would also be expected to perform any other duties which might reasonably be required by the business in line with the above services

Customer Deliverables include:
  • Data Analyst associated to Compliance Assessments and Benchmarking services

  • Interpreting vendor Licensing contracts and statements and provide procurement advise

  • Evaluation of FPP licensing, including Product Identification (PId) and Proof of License (PoL)

Customer Engagement
  • Engage with customers in support of billable team as required, and in alignment with the delivery management engagement model.

  • Engage customer in professional manner and ensure that TM and customer interests are managed effectively.

  • Provide guidance and support for all employees in managing the deliverables, providing a point of escalation for all services that the team is working on.

Team Engagement
  • Work individually or under direction of the ITAM Consultants as part of a delivery team to achieve project aims

  • Contribute ideas for innovation or improvement of services

  • Contribute toward the design and creation of delivery methods, templates and related documents under the direction of the ITAM Consultants

Continuous Improvement
  • Identify and promote use of best practice with regard to ITAM, licensing EULA's and vendor agreements

  • Ensure knowledge is kept to the latest vendor licensing models/metrics

  • Ensure process and procedures are followed and remain up to date and relevant, in-conjunction with the Principal Consultants and ITAM practice strategy

  • Identify areas for potential improvement within the tower or other services functions

All employees are responsible for
  • Abiding by TMS Security policy & procedures as set out in the Employee Handbook and implementing security directives from relevant managers (for example Senior Managers, HR & IS Managers) from time to time
  • Reporting all incidents and concerns, no matter how small the potential threat
