My client is an established business in Peterborough, a company who pride themselves on quality and service. We are looking to recruit an IT Technician to work closely with the IT Manager in supporting all aspects of day to day maintenance and operation of the IT systems. With an international footprint, your internal customers will be based primarily in the UK. You will provide desktop support, troubleshooting desktop, hardware and software problems. You will be assigned ad hoc projects, document all support and repair tasks.
We are seeking an experienced hire, for a permanent but immediate need. Key areas of expertise required include;
Ability to follow instructions and work autonomously
Ability to quickly gain new skills and knowledge when faced with new challenges.
Attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ask questions and get information in order to diagnose computer problems and discern what level of support is needed when a problem is presented
Work as part of a team in stressful situations; maintain composure in the face of heavy workload and constant interruptions
Proficient in Microsoft Office 2010 to current, Windows XP to current, in a domain environment
Excellent knowledge of AD, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP
Windows server 2003 to 2016
Firewall appliance configuration
Excellent knowledge of VMware hypervisors
Ability to troubleshoot and fix common hardware/software issues
Ability to meet deadlines and adjust to changing priorities
