IT Support Technician

We are looking for an additional member of our growing helpdesk team to help expand our business in the South West Region. We are an IT Support & Cloud Server hosting business looking after SME’s. Your role in the business will be to assist working on server & desktop issues reported by our clients, this will include receiving telephone calls, sending emails and troubleshooting general end user problems.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Remote Helpdesk Support
  • On-site Helpdesk Support
  • Configuring PC's & Servers
  • Monitoring server logs & backups
  • Firewall, Switch & router configuration

The role will be office based 3 days a week and up to 2 days home working. However flexibility is required as client site visits and out of hours working may be required (across the South West and in London).

The office location is Beer, Devon however occasional visits to our Chelmsford office may be required (overnight stay & expenses included)

We are looking for someone with a solid foundation IT knowledge and with experience working on a helpdesk. The candidate should also have:

  • Great customer service skills
  • Great motivation skills whilst working alone or within a team
  • An ambition to achieve some Microsoft Certifications (i.e. Installing and Configuring Windows 10 (70-698) would be beneficial)
  • An understanding of Virtual Machines & VMWare, Azure & AWS (but not required as training given)
  • An understanding of PC Hardware, with the ability to identify different components and replace them (Essential)
  • Be able to install & troubleshoot Windows Operating Systems & MS Office (Essential)
  • Understanding of Office 365, Exchange, Server OS's: Active Directory, DNS, DHCP (Beneficial)
  • Understanding of networking and hardware (Essential)

Job Type: Full-time

  • Salary: £16,500.00 to £18,000.00 /year (depending on experience)
