The IT Support Technician Role:

Is working for a fantastic, award-winning organisation within the education sector, based in Croydon.

The IT Support Technician Duties:

  • To provide first line support to all users within the school, ensuring a high quality of service is maintained, with minimal disruption to staff and students.
  • Support and maintain all Windows, Apple and Google OS workstation.
  • Provide first line support for all applications used by the school, including but not limited to; MS Office, Adobe CC, Internet Browsers, other Design, Video and Audio tools.
  • Maintain and support all Audio Visual classroom and meeting room equipment, including the setup and configuration of projectors, Interactive Whiteboards and Digital displays.
  • Maintain, monitor and support all Printers and Multi-Functional devices, including consumable replacement and ordering, ensuring sufficient stock is available. Provide first line troubleshoot and fix support for all printers and escalate to service Support Company.
  • Provide first line technical support for Active Directory Users, Groups and Computers, and work with the IT Support Analysts in developing, Testing and delivery group policies.
  • Work with MIS & E-Learning Analyst in providing support for E-Learning platforms within the school.
  • Assist the IT Support Analysts with application testing and deployment packaging.
  • Work with the IT Team in deploying and imaging Windows OS, Apple OS, and application deployments, playing a key role in the delivery of workstation rollouts, and refresh.
  • Work with the IT Support Analysts in network patching, ensuring ports are labelled and data cabinets are kept tidy and documentation up-to-date.
  • Regularly monitor and act upon Service Desk tickets, ensuring requestors are kept updated; documenting clear resolutions, within agreed SLAs.

The IT Support Technician Candidate:

The successful candidate will have;

  • Proven ability of supporting a multi-user/workstation environment at a first line support level.
  • Proven ability in troubleshooting and fixing Windows 7/8/10 problems.
  • Proven ability in supporting and resolving Microsoft Office support requests.
  • Proven ability working with Apple OS, troubleshooting and fixing issues.
  • Proven ability in working with and the setup of Classroom/Conference room Audio Visual equipment.
  • Proven basic knowledge of Active Directory users and computers.
  • Proven basic knowledge of networking, including patching, DNS, DHCP.
  • Proven ability in providing first line support of Printers, Multifunctional Devices, Consumable replacement and troubleshooting.
  • In addition, experience with Windows and Apple OS deployment, Office 365, Google Apps and Adobe CS/CC products is desirable.
