IT Support Technician

Omega Resource Group is an award winning recruitment business providing a wide range of resourcing solution locally, nationally and world-wide. Part of the Passionate about People Group, the other businesses within the group are Datum RPO, an outsourced resourcing solutions business and Omega Engineering Services, providing design and implementation of testing solutions.

The IT department provides support to all parts of the group over 10 UK locations. This role is an additional member to join the existing team to support growth of the business.

Job Purpose

End-user support for all IT activity within Omega and all business support activity company wide, including special projects assigned by the IT & Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

IT Support
* Provide 1st/2nd line IT support to Group users over all sites.
* Assisting the IT & Operations Manager with new user setup, daily maintenance, building of new PC's, support of remote users using PPTP VPN's, Remote Desktop Gateway Services and remote applications, as well as all other aspects of a busy IT department such as telephony, desk moves, network cabling and sourcing of new equipment.

IT Development

* Continually find new ideas and schemes to increase the company's revenue, company cost saving, company efficiency and customer service levels


* Assist the IT & Operations Manager in any special assignments/projects as requested, ensuring confidentiality at all times.

Experience and Skills

The successful person will receive training and coaching within the role and formal external training may also be available.

To be successful you will be able to demonstrate existing IT competence and problem solving. Any experience of networking principals including CAT5 patching & ability to fault find server hardware & software will be a distinct advantage.
