IT Support Technician - Doncaster - Windows Desktop, Windows Server, Active Directory
The Ashdown Group has been engaged by a major, international industrial tooling and services business to assist them in their search for a new IT Support Technician to be based from offices in Doncaster. The role will focus on provision of support across the entire technology estate for users in the UK and Europe and will focus on Microsoft technologies.
The successful candidate will have considerable experience in technical support already and will have comprehensive Windows Desktop support skills. You will need strong Windows Serverknowledge too and should be fully acquainted with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP etc. The environment is full Office 365 based now, so experience of supporting users on O365 would be preferred. Experience of public cloud technology (ideally Azure) is also required and you should at least be familiar with virtualization technology too.
Experience in a formal, structured service desk environment is essential and you should be accustomed to working with a ticketing system and rapidly delivering against SLA's. The support team of 4 dealt with 900 tickets in January and technicians are expected to see tickets through to resolution in the majority of cases. As well as your support responsibilities (approximately 75% of your time) you will also be engaged in project work aimed at ensuring the environment is continuously kept up to date and remains resilient at all times.
