Server Support Engineer - £25 -£30k + shift allowance (to£6k) based from home & Warrington office.
One of the North West’s leading IT solution providers specialising in Private Cloud Hosting and Managed Service is seeking to recruit an experienced Technical Support Engineer to focus on the remote support of client’s Server & Virtualised environments working from home and office on a shift basis*.
2/3 years+ experience and knowledge of supporting:
- Windows Server 2008 - 2016 - Configuration, Monitoring, Troubleshooting
- Virtualisation - VMware (vSphere 5+) or Hyper-V - basic use of GUI tools to perform troubleshooting
Additional skills of interest would be MS Exchange, Office 365, Azure, SQL Server, etc as would Microsoft or VCP accreditation and experience of working in a structured environment (ie ISO 9001, 27001, 20000)
The Server Support Engineer will be involved in providing 1st line server support, monitoring the incident logging system for new tickets, performing initial diagnosis and fix, or escalation to 2nd line. The role also includes providing telephone support to clients on technical issues and carrying out change requests for systems based on client sites and at a Data Centre.
You should possess first class communication skills, a positive and professional work manner, be self-motivated and conscientious, with the ability to work individually or in a team.
*This will involve working to a 3 week shift pattern of 14 days on, covering a time zone between 7am and midnight (7-3.30 & 3.30-midnight) plus an ooh rota (the afternoon, evening and weekend shifts will be home based) and then 7 days off.
This position offers an attractive salary package and would appeal to a candidate who wishes to work from a home base the majority of time but also from the Warrington office. Salary package to £36,000 + profit share + benefits.
