An IT Service Desk Team Leader is needed for our client, a reputable IT managed service provider based just outside of Swindon, Wiltshire. The IT Service Desk Team Leader will be joining a growing shift team of IT Service Desk Analysts and will be tasked with both technical IT support, ITIL management and team leadership. The ideal IT Service Desk Analyst will have management or leadership experience but candidates from a technical background (i.e Helpdesk, Service Desk or 2nd Line) looking for their first management role, will also be considered.

As the new IT Service Desk Team Leader you’ll be experienced in delivering against challenging technical issues, whilst also striving to achieve the highest level of customer service. You’ll be a key part of both Management Escalations and the Major Incident Management processes, performing a critical co-ordination role. You’ll work closely with our other technical teams, so the ability to converse in both technical and service management terminology confidently is critical.

Key Skills and Experience required for the IT Service Desk Team Leader include:

  • A flexible approach to work at all times and the commitment to ensure tasks are completed to deadline
  • Exceptional customer service & communication skills
  • Experience working with both internal teams and external suppliers
  • Support documentation management skills
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective prioritisation and execution of tasks in a high pressure environment.
  • Experience in working within an ITIL environment
  • Experience supervising a team.

The IT Service Desk Team leader will get to work with the following technologies:

  • Ideally experience on a Service Desk supporting the following technologies:
  • Remedy (Incident, Problem, Service Request & Change)
  • Solarwinds Windows 7 & 8 (For end user compute)
  • Windows Server 2008/12
  • Active Directory
  • VMWare vSphere
  • EMC Storage & Backup
  • Cisco, Juniper & Fortinet Network Devices
  • Linux (RHEL).
