Main duties and responsibilities:

To support all production applications in the Paddy Power Retail Technology department.

You will be responsible for:

  • Supporting all Production system in the Retail Technology department

  • Incident and problem management, resolution and escalation of issues

  • Troubleshooting issues on all applications

  • Working closely with our 3rd party suppliers to provide essential primary support for all systems

  • Maintain the documentation set on all applications and systems

  • Co-ordinating other small operationally-focused projects where required

  • Ensuring retail technology systems are kept up to date

  • Assistance with the preparation of operational reporting

  • Carrying out other tasks as required by your manager

  • Systems and Application Maintenance – managing the deployment process to ensure successful deployment of new system/software and upgrades for all trading and operational systems

  • System Monitoring – monitoring of all systems and alerts through existing monitoring systems, constant re-evaluation of current systems to establish scope for improvement/growth, development of required tools and/or implementation of agreed 3rd party systems to ensure 100% uptime in our trading environment during exchange open hours

  • Continuous evaluation and improvement of trading support procedures, development and implementation of required/agreed tools and associated runtime environment

  • Interact with various internal IT support functions to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems as they happen

Experience:

  • 3rd level degree within IT or a related discipline

  • 2 years previous helpdesk / Technical Support / client support experience

  • Customer service experience preferred

  • Technology and betting industry experience preferred

  • Hands on experience working with Windows OS / Linux and Oracle SQL Server

  • Experience supporting IT Infrastructure systems

  • Proven ability to diagnose and troubleshoot application problems to identify solutions

Skills:

  • Superior organisational skills

  • Excellent administration skills with emphasis on attention to detail

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Excellent customer service / people skills

  • Experience managing service partners

  • Strong problem solving skills essential

  • Ability to prioritise, focus, self-motivate and work on their own initiative

  • Service Awareness, preferably IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Certification

Working Hours and Conditions:

  • This is a full time

  • A degree of flexibility will be required

  • On Call
