The Role

Due to our continued success here at Fortem, we are delighted to be recruiting for an experienced, proactive and innovative IT Project Manager to join the Business Systems team at our central branch in Hitchin, Hertfordshire.

Reporting to the Project Delivery Lead you will work in conjunction with the clients, suppliers, the wider Business Solutions team and branches, to ensure all IT projects are delivered within budget, scope & cost, continually adding value to the Fortem business.

The Project

You will take ownership of the initiation, delivery and closure of projects within the project governance process to budget, scope and cost expectations, and identify and shape future projects which add value to the Fortem business.

Essential and Desirable Criteria


Ability to meet deadlines

Excellent requirements gathering skills

Good range of general IT knowledge

Successful delivery of IT projects that have tangibly added value to a business

Ability to read and accurately interpret technical specifications and plans

Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills

Full driving license

Degree qualified in IT or related discipline, or at least 5 years of relevant experience

Prince 2 Practitioner or equivalent experience /qualification


Operational/commercial experience within the maintenance/construction sector

Working within a matrix structure

Ability to think 'out of the box’ to come up with innovative solutions

Member of the British Computer Society (MBCS)

Other requirements:

Flexible hours and travel in the UK
