IT & Network Support Technician

This is a fantastic part-time opportunity for an experienced IT & Network Support Technician to join a well-established private business. You will work alongside the IT Manager to help manage the company's internal technology operations and demonstrate a proven ability of IT development, infrastructure, problem solving and end user support.

As an IT & Network Support Technician you will be responsible for:

  • Oversight of company’s technical and network infrastructure
  • Providing technical support to staff
  • Design, develop, implement and coordinate IT systems, networks, policies and procedures
  • Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems
  • Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions
  • Resolving technical issues hands-on using system tools and hands-on technical knowledge
  • Day to day system management, health checking, report production, monitoring and fault identification and resolution

The successful candidate for the role of IT & Network Support Technician will have:

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Ability to provide 1st to 3rd line support
  • Experience managing a Windows domain environment and network
  • Management and administration of Office 365 and Hosted Microsoft Exchange
  • Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems
  • Ability to diagnose and fix hardware issues
  • Ability to understand organisational objectives and to help integrate IT services to achieve these objectives
  • Ability to assess, maintain and improve security in line with industry standards
  • Quickly diagnose and resolve problems with a determined attitude
  • Excellent communications skills at all levels, both technical and non-technical
  • A proven track record working with a variety of systems and solutions including: Active Directory, DHCP/DNS, Hosted Exchange, Windows 10, Windows Server, Office 365, VirtualisationHypervisors, Cisco Switches/Firewalls, PBX, VPN and Project Management Software.
  • UK driving license and own car, happy to travel to customer sites on occasions when required

The following attributes are also desirable:

  • Microsoft Certified Professional, CCIE, CCNA qualifications
  • Experience with project management software such as; JIRA/Trello/Asana
  • Experience with MS SQL Server
  • Experience with backup systems such as; Altaro/Veeam/Windows Server Backup
