Part-time IT Manager

We are looking for an experienced IT Manager to join our growing agency team. Based in our Central London office, you’ll be working to ensure the efficient running of the IT infrastructure, hardware and software within the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure and troubleshoot Mac and Windows operating systems and associated hardware

  • Monitor and triage incoming support requests from staff, ensuring priority tickets are identified and resolved quickly.

  • Perform IT risk assessments for the businesses’ IT network, communicating findings to senior management.

  • Manage software licensing allocations and budgets in accordance with the defined IT policy and procedures.

  • Maintain the hardware and software asset register, ensuring accurate record keeping of assets allocated to staff.

  • Act as the point of communication between our agency and the wider Group IT team, ensuring compliance with Group policy and procedures.

  • Conduct regular audits of software to ensure compliance with corporate software licensing regulations.

  • Manage new user account creation and cancellation for new, returning or departing staff members in accordance with the company’s IT policy and procedures.

  • Provide on-site support for staff workstations and laptops including issue diagnosis, impact assessment and resolution.

  • Manage the procurement of hardware and software ensuring that staff have appropriate equipment and software for their job function.

  • Conduct regular audits of the IT infrastructure, hardware and software to support IT security and mitigate risk.

  • Working with the Digital Director and the CEO, maintain the Disaster Recovery Plan for the business including backup strategy and fall-back infrastructure.

  • Work effectively with the Financial Director to set and meet IT budget spend and mitigate unplanned or unnecessary IT expenditure.

  • Work closely with our external Mac Support supplier to ensure efficient and timely delegation and resolution of helpdesk tickets.

  • Monitor Performance against SLA targets for the agency’s external software and support providers

  • Writing and maintaining basic IT training materials for staff regarding use of key IT systems

  • Management of DNS controls and procurement of domains for externally hosted websites

Key-Skills:

  • Qualified Mac Support Technician or similar experience level

  • Experience supporting Mac-based businesses, preferably within a creative/agency environment

  • Knowledge of Windows Server OS, Linux OS and Mac OS with good working knowledge of Active Directory, MS Exchange and Terminal Services

  • Experience in network architecture and design across technologies from Windows to Linux, SAN, NAS, and data backups and The Cloud

  • Experience of identifying and mitigating cybersecurity risks

  • An awareness of data security and data protection issues and legislation including GDPR

  • The ability to prioritise urgent or high-risk issues to ensure uptime and security for business critical functions

  • The ability to work effectively with staff across the business, building strong relationships with teams

  • Proven ability to understand and adhere to operational processes and procedures

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Working knowledge of fixed line networks, switching and telephone and mobile systems

  • Solution-focussed with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

The successful candidate will have the support of:

  • The wider Group IT department

  • The in-house software development team

  • An external Mac desktop support provider

In addition you will have access to a range of software tools to assist them in the role including a helpdesk support ticketing system, staff intranet, server hardware monitoring tools and cloud-based backup solutions.

The role has a degree of flexibility with the ideal candidate being able to work 24 hours across Monday to Friday or 24 hours across a 3 day week. Benefits include 25 days holiday pro rata, season ticket loan, pension, long service award and enhanced maternity/paternity packages where eligible.
