Category Manager – IT
Are you a procurement professional looking for a fresh challenge?
We are recruiting for an experienced IT Procurement Category Specialist to join an expanding and progressive procurement team based in South Manchester.
As the successful candidate you will support the Head of Category in both defining and driving forward procurement strategies for the IT category, spread over software licensing and hardware spends. This will include, but not be limited to initiating and managing tender and pre-qualification exercises to meet business requirements and negotiating with suppliers to deliver best value, from an ever increasing annual budget.
You will be negotiating directly with large Software providers, such as Microsoft and third party providers of managed services. You will also spend time researching current and future market trends to help inform strategy and carry out ongoing contract management responsibilities.
As the successful candidate you will have;
- A detailed knowledge of procurement processes and proven experience of strategically managing IT/Software spend (essential)
- Experience of managing multi million pound annual spends (essential)
- A degree level qualification (desirable)
- A professional CIPS qualification (desirable)
- Strong stakeholder management and excellent communication skills
You must be used to a category procurement environment with a strong experience of negotiation and influencing stakeholders.
