IT Auditor

Kind Consultancy is working with a multinational banking organisation who are seeking an IT Auditor to join the Financial Crime department in their London offices.

As an IT Auditor, you will focus on executing assurance reviews on identified core systems and automated processes that create Financial Crime risks, with responsibilities including:

  • Conducting assurance activities primarily on automated financial crime processes and systems
  • Assessing the design and operating effectiveness of the systems and controls in place to mitigate Financial Crime risk and driving necessary remediation actions to close any identified gaps
  • Carrying out non-systems assurance reviews on product, functional and geographic lines
  • Drafting review scopes, testing, reviewing documentation, documenting results and preparing draft assurance reports
  • Contributing to the development of overall Financial Crime capability by constructively challenging on-going effectiveness and continually identifying any opportunities for potential improvementLiaising with business, compliance, operations, infrastructure areas and other risk functions
  • Liaising with business, compliance, operations, infrastructure areas and other risk functions when relevant
  • Providing assurance across all Financial Crime areas when required
  • Aiding review leads with planning and execution of Design Effectiveness and Operational Effectiveness testing, with a focus on key Financial Crime regulations and risks

Our ideal candidate for the IT Auditor opportunity:

  • Has substantial experience of development and execution of testing strategies to assess control environments as part of a Systems Assurance function, Internal or External Audit role or as part of a Risk Management function
  • Has good knowledge and experience of Financial Crime technology systems and solutions
  • Is educated to degree level and holds a relevant professional qualification such as CISA, CISSP, CRISC, CISM or ITIL
  • Has experience of completing reviews independently with little to no supervision
  • Holds ACAMS or Internal Compliance Association qualifications
  • Has a strong practical knowledge of IT including applications, infrastructure, risk and controls
  • Has experience of Applications or Technology Assurance Reviews within Compliance, Financial Crime, Audit or Investigations
  • Has strong data analytics skills using SQL, ACL, SAS etc
  • Has practical experience of developing and executing testing strategies to assess control environments
  • Has an up to date understanding of the regulatory Financial Crime environment and associated risks
  • Has very well developed interpersonal and communication skills, able to communicate complex issues with clarity and purpose in a non-technical manner
  • Is comfortable raising and discussing contentious observations with management and adapting their style as necessary
