This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced IT support Engineer to join a thriving business, supporting 3 key sites across South Yorkshire in the in the implementation, support and maintenance of various operational systems required to run operations across the UK and Europe.
This role offers Hybrid working (Sheffield sites & Remote) and will require a full licence and own vehicle for travel across all 3 sites.
Key duties & responsibilities:
*Use business knowledge to identify improvements to current processes and evaluate technology solutions to business needs
*Specify problem definition and define scope and objectives in relation to the business requirements
*Provide technical support related to network hardware, systems and software faults to a range of the company's sites
*Take ownership of users' issues and identify appropriate solutions to resolve service incidents and requests
*Work closely with the wider IT support team to provide support, ensuring assigned calls are responded to, diagnosed, and resolved swiftly
*Communicate effectively with technical, business, operations and support audiences and use specialist knowledge to engage them appropriately
*Perform testing and validation of systems
*Develop peer networks internally and externally to keep up to date on the business and current industry standards
We are keen to speak with candidates who possess the following skills & experience:
*Educated to degree level or equivalent in a Computer Science / Engineering
*Experience in an application support or technical systems analyst role
*Software application support experience (e.g. .NET, C#, VB)
*Experience of supporting diverse global applications
*Experience of database structures and a working knowledge of MS SQL and MS Access
*Experience of networking and setting up data extraction from instruments
*Working knowledge of Microsoft applications (SharePoint, Office 365, PowerApps)
*A working knowledge of a wide variety of IT hardware e.g. desktops, laptops, tablets
*A basic understanding of structured cabling, networks, and Wi-Fi connectivity e.g. routers, switches and wireless
*Ability to deal with change and the demands associated with responding to competing priorities
