An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Investment Data Specialist to join the Data Management Team. The role will be responsible for aggregating the investment data for M&G Retail funds, by working with investment teams, to deliver data reports to clients and regulators.
The successful candidate will be able to communicate complex investment themes through the use of data templates and outputs, in order to meet the reporting requirements. The candidate will be proactive regarding data sourcing and the continued distribution of the investment view. Helping to deliver high quality data to support our Retail Funds and Distribution business, involves working across numerous contact points including Data Vendors, Retail and Investment teams.
Data Management is responsible for delivering business critical data across multiple stakeholders and applications through services including Data Content, Valuations, Business Data Analysis, Market Data Services and Data Governance.
This role provides a great opportunity to develop an understanding of the M&G business and the data environment which supports it.
You will be responsible for the following tasks:
• To be responsible for the delivery of M&G’s investment message via high-quality data, appropriate for internal and external clients.
• To develop solid relationships with key stakeholders including Front Office, Retail/Distribution, Client Reporting, Investment Operations and 3rd party Data Vendors.
• Collecting and verifying data from appropriate sources, ensuring accurate and timely information is supplied to the business.
• Challenging current processes, driving change, proactively realising opportunities for improvements across Data Management.
• To analyse, investigate and resolve client driven investment data queries,
• Analysing large data sets to identify Data Quality issues and ensuring they are resolved.
• Creating reliable and reusable documentation to share knowledge and promote best practice.
• Supporting the implementation of controls and procedures throughout the Data Management team.
What we are looking for:
You will have the ability to understand fund data and manage the representation of this data with 3rd parties, as well as this you will be able to articulate investment themes via the use of data and client reporting. Outstanding attention to detail is essential for this role, alongside advanced Excel skills and sound investment knowledge. You will be capable of handling and manipulating large volumes of static and dynamic data for client benefit. Excellent organisational skills are a must, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables. Being able to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines, is also highly important.
Developing and maintaining effective working relationships within the team, across other business areas, and external parties is essential for this position. You will be a strong team player with the ability to work closely with colleagues. You will also have an understanding of the fund management industry and client demands.
You will take pride in working to a high standard, and thrives within a changing environment, showing initiative and drive. Being a proactive self-starter is key for this role, with the ability to identify problems and have the drive to follow them through to resolution. You will be enthusiastic, determined and reliable, possessing excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both written and orally. It is also essential for you to be organised and deadline driven, with a passion for delivering high levels of client service.
