Interventional Radiographer

Posted 16 September by NHS Business Services Authority

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 radiographer to join the Interventional Radiology team at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust.

Salford Royal is a University Teaching Trust that aims to be the safest organisation in the NHS through providing safe, clean, and personal care to every patient, every time.

Salford Royal is an Outstanding Trust – the first Trust in the North of England to achieve the highest rating given by the Care Quality Commission and we want you to become part of this.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, patient focused, progressive Radiographer, to join our Interventional Radiology team. Candidates must be good team players and able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal, and communication skills.

The Interventional Radiology department at Salford is an exciting place to work, rapidly expanding, with excellent opportunities to progress in a wide range of specialties. Our services currently include major trauma, acute stroke services, and neurosciences.

The successful candidate would join our core Interventional Radiology team and would help to train and mentor rotational radiographers passing into the area. As an expert in their field, they would help support the Interventional Radiology team in complex cases.

To help support the lead Interventional Radiographer the post holder would be expected to take a leading role within the department, and assist in the day to day running of this expanding service. The role would also provide some experience of managerial aspects, and be an opportunity for the post holder to expand their skill set.

The department has recently expanded its thrombectomy service and is moving towards providing a 24/7 acute service. The Radiographer would be expected to take a vital role in our acute thrombectomy service and its upcoming expansion, including partaking on our on call system. All radiographers are expected to support 24/7 working 365 days per year in line with Trust Policy. This pioneering service will give an opportunity, to the right candidate, to help make a real difference in patients’ lives across Greater Manchester.

This is an opportunity to be part of an exciting new era. Salford Royal is soon to break ground on a state of the art trauma unit. This will see Salford Royal care for the majority of Greater Manchester trauma. As a Radiographer it is a fantastic opportunity to perform the latest imaging techniques using the latest technology, the trauma unit is set to house a hybrid theatre.

The Interventional department is progressive and opportunities for CPD are available.

Advanced practice is new to the department and in the future there could be opportunities to advance skills to help make Clinical Specialist Radiographers.

Applicants should live within 30 minutes travel time of the hospital.

We look forward to hearing from you soon.

In line with the Trust’s Single Equality Scheme we welcome applications from everyone irrespective of ethnic origin, disability, age, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, nationality, religion, marital status, social back ground or trade union membership. However, as members of ethnicity minority groups and individuals with disabilities are currently under-represented at this level of post, we would encourage applications from members of these groups. Appointment will be based on merit alone.
