Internal Sales Representative

Salary up to £21,000 OTE up to £24,000

Full Time / Permanent

Based Leeds with opportunity for travel as required

Reporting to the Location Manager, the Internal Sales Representative is responsible for owning and driving strong relationships with the customers to ensure customer service levels are maintained and improved. Activities to deliver solutions that meet business needs, fundamentally driving a great customer service experience and ensuring targets are met.

Key role responsibilities:

  • Respond to customer enquiries and orders - Remain customer focused with a can do attitude at all times.

  • Ensure customer is kept updated with orders and customer expectations are met.

  • Engage and develop relationships to ensure company products are promoted

  • Engage with Customers to ensure up to date understanding of changes, sales opportunities and new practices, ensuring that our client are continuously improving.

  • Progress any outstanding orders, keeping customer fully updated of progress

  • Maintenance of customer contracts / pricing schedules and contractual paperwork

  • Responding to customer enquiries, provide quotes and following up on these quotes

  • Maximise profit potential with customers

  • Tailor solutions to meet changing needs and requests.

  • Identify non-profitable business and unnecessary overhead- Question the Customers requirements to ensure full understanding

  • Compliance with H&S policy and procedures

  • Data input & administration

  • Take on additional tasks in order to meet departmental, project related or developmental objectives.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • The job calls for a person who enjoys dealing with people, creating and maintaining relationships as well as making a good impression both personally and for the business.
  • It is important job holder should have the persistence to see a job through to conclusion and the ability to work within a structured environment.
  • The ability to make favourable impressions on others will be an important attribute.
  • Gaining the enthusiastic commitment of others is important component of this job.
  • Customer support and servicing skills will be a critical factor of the role
  • The role holder will have the ability to provide practical solutions and follow up on enquiries.
  • It is important to have good working knowledge of Microsoft office and data entry systems
  • Experience in similar sales / customer service environment is important.

The ideal candidate:

  • Experience working within Sales or Customer Service is vital

  • Strong interpersonal skills- to develop key relationships with colleague and customers

  • Motivation and energy with a drive to earn bonus and develop sales opportunities

  • High attention to detail with strong planning and organisation skills

  • The ability to negotiate and influence

  • Personable telephone skills with excellent communication

  • Ability to think outside the box/Cover all areas

  • A self starter with a motivated attitude

  • Initiative to drive innovation

  • IT Literate

  • Proactive

A good level of education is required, with at least GSCE’s in Maths and English (or equivalent)
