BES Utilities is an independently owned company, based in Lancashire. It is comprised of BES Commercial Gas Ltd, established 2002, and BES Commercial Electricity Ltd, established 2009. It aims to be the lead supplier of gas and electricity to small and medium enterprises, providing first rate utility services across the UK.

Role and Responsibilities

An Internal Recruiter will be responsible for delivering the full recruitment cycle. This person will be involved in the development of in-house recruiting plans and coordinating the recruitment process. This position will play a critical role in ensuring the business is hiring the best possible talent.

Main Responsibilities, but not limited to:

  • Deliver a full in-house recruitment service on a range of diverse roles across the Group, reducing agency reliance by developing direct recruitment strategies

  • Manage relationships with hiring managers at all levels, providing coaching and support through all stages, building a resourcing plan for each vacancy

  • Lead on identification and implementation of an application tracking system

  • Develop innovative ways to attract talent to the Group, sourcing candidates through multiple channels including recruitment events, job boards, CV mining, social networking and multimedia advertising

  • Support in the development and implementation of a talent acquisition strategy

  • Work with HR Team and managers to develop emerging talent pipelines for apprentices, graduate recruits, interims and placement schemes

  • Design and manage a suite of assessment tools and techniques to determine candidate suitability and cultural fit

  • Work with key tools and marketing to build a consistent employer brand, including a presence on social media

  • Produce and communicate core recruitment KPIs

  • Screening candidates and arranging interviews

  • Updating job specifications and job descriptions

  • Administering tests and assessments when required

  • Maintaining and providing constructive interview feedback

  • Writing offer and rejection letters

  • Negotiate and manage the offer process

  • Referencing

  • Ensuring that employment regulations are adhered to and best practice is maintained

  • Constantly build external pipelines through engagement methods and events

  • Maintain accurate documentation and records on all candidates

  • Actively contribute to HR project work and other duties as deemed appropriate

Key experience and skills required for the role:

  • Previous experience of successful delivery as a Recruitment Consultant in agency or in-house environment

  • Experienced direct-sourcing recruiter with an understanding of the recruitment industry across multiple functional areas (Sales, Operations, Support Services etc)

  • Experienced with recruiting via social networks such as Linkedin

  • Headhunting and raising employers brand offering through various means

  • Experience of working closely with a range of internal (at all levels) and external stakeholders

  • Working in a fast paced environment and the ability to manage a high volume of roles at all levels

  • Ability to work in a standalone role

  • Excellent knowledge and application of recruitment and selection best practice

  • Excellent working knowledge of in-house recruitment services

  • Ability to effectively deal with complex problems / situations and arrive at a commercial solution

  • Ability to plan and organize workload, with strong attention to detail

  • Proficient use of Microsoft office packages, specifically Word, PowerPoint and Excel

  • Excellent communicator and influencer

  • Works collaboratively to deliver a superior result

  • Demonstrates passion for recruitment and exceeding customer needs

  • Driven towards achieving results and drives a positive impact for the business

  • Commercial acumen

  • Full UK driving license

  • Qualifications desired for the role:

  • Experience of working with applicant tracking systems

  • Degree in a relevant subject (or equivalent)
