Our client is a leading Accountancy firm looking for a confident, enthusiastic internal communications Manager on one-year maternity
cover contract. You will be a key member of the communications team, this role manages the firm’s IC strategy and channels.
With an ideas-driven mentality, you’ll be responsible for developing and enhancing an internal-first approach to
informing and engaging staff. You’ll work closely with the firm’s leadership, the head of communications and internal
clients across the business to plan and deliver a programme of engaging digital and print communications.
About the ideal candidate
This is a wide-ranging role so you’ll have solid influencing skills and be confident to challenge the status quo to advise
stakeholders on good practice for both project and business-as-usual communications. You won’t hesitate to roll your
sleeves up to write copy, prepare presentations and edit others’ content and you’ll never hide behind jargon or waffle
because you’re a stickler for the detail behind tone of voice and brand guidelines.
Engagement is key so you’ll have a good understanding of the types of communication needed to engage and inform
teams across a business. A strong sense of the bigger picture and the ability to get to the heart of an issue will ensure
you can advise stakeholders of all levels. Your organisation and project management capabilities will help you make
sure that engaging, timely content is fed through the firm’s range of communication channels.
Work closely with leadership and the communications director to keep informed of firm-wide positioning
messages, statements or approaches that need to be disseminated.
Implement and develop (as appropriate) the agreed IC strategy in consultation and conjunction with stakeholders
across the business.
Write, edit and/or curate content for national digital channels including intranet news centre and fortnightly email
Schedule and manage content for firm-wide print and digital broadcast channels including posters, TV screens
Project manage and lead delivery of key firm-wide communications projects including internal report and annual
Lead on development of email communications platform for internal.
?Consult and support on key projects including leadership roadshow, onboarding programme review and
Support, advise and engage contributors with good communications practice, including proof reading and editing
written content, and supporting on video production for internal audiences.
Act as a consultant to advise on channel selection, audiences, messaging and house styles.
Work closely with other business services teams, particularly HR and IT, to support effective firm-wide
Work closely with other communications team managers to support delivery of the communications strategy.
Drive regular measurement and reporting against the performance of all internal communications channels to
identify opportunities and areas for improvement across all outputs.
Ideal candidate must have:
Seven years’ plus of relevant IC experience
Expert working knowledge of internal digital content management systems, Sharepoint an advantage.?Management of an internal marketing/automation system integrated with HR systems a benefit.
Track record of delivering and managing multi-channel internal campaigns from concept to execution.
Proven project management skills.
Up to date with the latest trends and best practices in internal communications and engagement practice and
An understanding of communications and business development within a professional services environment
would be of benefit.
