Internal Audit Assistant

Job Title: Internal Audit Assistant
Location: Glasgow

Our Asset Services team work with our clients to maximise commercial real estate value by aligning building operational performance with broader business objectives. By tailoring our property management efforts to our client’s goals, we are able to anticipate needs and deal with issues long before they become problems.

Role Purpose
  • Assist with the delivery of Internal Audit and Quality Assurance Programmes within Asset Services;
  • Promote a strong process driven control environment within the Real Estate Accounting Services (REAS) team;
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with both our External and Internal stakeholders;
  • Contribute to an annual audit and assurance team strategy and planning review.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation of an annual Internal Audit Programme across Asset Services by working collaboratively with the wider Audit & Assurance team;
  • Support the maintenance of the ISAE3402 accreditation for Real Estate Accounting Services;
  • Support delivery of any ISO and RICS Audit requirements forE Real Estate Accounting Services, in line with the overall CBRE ISO / RICS audit programmes;
  • Support reviews of business processes, procedures and internal controls in line with the agreed annual Audit Programme;
  • Support the Real Estate Accounting Services team with client led external audit requests on an ad hoc basis;
  • Attend regular meetings with business to review internal controls, processes and procedures as required;
  • Delivery of regular audit reports to highlight risks, issues and agreed action plans and owners;
  • Play an active role in projects to review procedures / systems and any planned system upgrades.

Person Specification
  • Part qualification in a professional accounting qualification (e.g. CA, ACCA or CIMA) would be desirable and/or relevant experience within a controlled process led environment;
  • An understanding of ISAE3402 compliance in a service organisation or equivalent would be desirable;
  • Highly organised and strong analytical and report writing skills;
  • Experience of working in a business culture that promotes adherence to procedures and controls highlighting an awareness of risk management;
  • Strong time management and prioritisation skills to ensure all deadlines are met;
  • Ability to remain calm and in control, when working under pressure;
  • Proactive and self-motivated;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to quickly form professional relationships with stakeholders at all levels of seniority;
  • Ability to quickly build up a sound knowledge of the property management sector is essential, particularly around RICS obligations;
  • Maintains a positive attitude towards routine tasks, and has a flexible approach to work;
  • Accurate and exceptional attention to detail;
  • Pro-active and enjoys working autonomously and as part of a wider team;
  • Confident and assertive where required;
  • Understands and appreciates the importance of using discretion.

Skills Required
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, MS Outlook). Experience in Tramps, Horizon, Yardi or similar property management systems would be an advantage;
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in relation to report writing;
  • Experience of working in an internal audit or systems focussed role, in a high volumes processing environment, that requires strict controls around control of client monies.

Other Information
  • Travel is a key aspect of this role and will be required, between other CBRE offices or managed sites. This may on occasion involve overnight stays outside of Glasgow.
