Interim Senior Buyer

SF Group are recruiting for a Senior Buyer to join a company located in Derby immediately, initially on a temporary basis.

What will you be doing?

  • Responsible for the placement of Purchase Orders/call off orders, MRP planning/scheduling, stock management, expediting & cost saving Projects
  • Procurement of goods and services in line with Company Processes & Procedures
  • Any other reasonable duties as the business requires
  • Purchase Orders
  • Respond to MRP and requisition generated demands
  • Issuing Requests for quotation
  • Placement of Orders in line with the Company delegated authorities Procedure
  • Stock item records, Purchase Order records & Supplier records
  • Update and maintain
  • MRP Scheduling/Material Planning
  • Using system generated reports, identify potential shortages in the flow of key components
  • Placement of Purchase/Call off orders in line with current Sales order demand
  • Re-scheduling of components to prevent under/over stocking
  • Supplier Interface
  • Supplier relationship management
  • Cost saving initiatives
  • Expediting
  • You will also be responsible for 2 Junior Buyers

What will you need?

  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Strong IT skills, Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Have a flexible and a can do' nature
  • Strong commitment to providing excellent customer service


  • Sound knowledge and practical working experience of MRP systems
